SOTD: Cinderpop - 'Blonder' from A Lesson in Science (2008)
The first time I heard Cinderpop's 'Blonder' I was interested. The opening guitar strumming immediately brought to mind one of my favorite Buffalo Tom tracks ('Saving Grace' from Let Me Come Over), and that definitely caught my attention. In all honesty when listened to back-to-back the songs aren't that similar but it seemed appropriate at the time. There are occasions in the 2:29 when you think you've heard this before in another song, but Cinderpop do it so well you forgive any plucked portions.
In any case, 'Blonder' is a short, frenetic pop song performed by this band hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia. The five members put together a great tune and seem to have a good time doing so.
A Lesson in Science is the third release from the band.
